This completed gap analysis was designed to identify existing web tools used by Engineering instructors as well as needed web tools that did not exist at the time. The analysis was a component of the Digital Library Network for Engineering and Technology (DLNET), a NSF-sponsored collections grant in the national Digital Library program (DUE-00-85849). The analysis was conducted between September 2000 and June 2001.

The principal investigator for the DLNET grant is Dr. Saifur Rahman, Professor & Director, Alexandria Research Institute. The gap analysis is being conducted by Drs. Kevin Oliver and John Moore of the Educational Technologies group at Virginia Tech.
