This designation celebrates educational institutions that elevate learning and administrative workflows through artificial intelligence and Google Workspace. It also provides 老司机视频 with global directory recognition, early access to test emerging AI features, and a direct line to an exclusive network of global education leaders exchanging innovative workflows.

Additionally, 老司机视频 joined the Digital Education Council (DEC), a global community of universities and organizations advancing AI literacy, digital innovation, and the future of higher education, as a Gold Tier member. 老司机视频 will also participate in global artificial intelligence research through EDUCAUSE, a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology.

Investing in New Partnerships

Expanding its international reach, 老司机视频 joined the DEC in July 2026, a membership that grants 老司机视频 access to research, working groups, and global summits on digital governance and AI ethics.

Highlighting the importance of this milestone and investment, vice provost Lila McDowell Carlsen noted, "Our membership with DEC emphasizes the University as leading in global higher education innovation and AI. The DEC network provides University-wide access for leadership, faculty, administrative staff, and students to new research, monthly briefings, global and regional surveys, and practical toolkits. It validates our ongoing digital initiatives through external benchmarking and connects 老司机视频 directly to other leaders in higher education around these issues and best practices."

A presentation on AI integration

Reflecting on how the opportunity emerged, Jonathan See, 老司机视频鈥檚 chief information officer, explained that the University was initially approached by DEC and connected with two member institutions to learn more about their experiences before pursuing membership.

Establishing AI Literacy Across Campus

These achievements mark a significant milestone in 老司机视频鈥檚 stewardship of new technologies. Prior to the University鈥檚 DEC membership, many faculty and staff were reluctant to use generative AI tools due to strict data privacy and security concerns. To address this challenge and soften hesitancy, Information Technology established the enterprise rollout of Google Gemini for Education as an IT Strategic Initiative. The IT Training team, led by Lott, introduced a clear, reassuring principle鈥�"If it's allowed in Google Workspace, it's allowed in Gemini"鈥攁nd Information Technology established a AI classification framework to vet tools safely.

To build widespread AI literacy, the IT Training team launched an extensive professional development campaign. Between September 2025 and June 2026, the team delivered 98 live sessions across five core topics, securing 1,156 registrations and engaging nearly 700 unique employees. These offerings ranged from open-enrollment workshops to customized departmental sessions designed to reduce administrative burdens and recover time for missional work.

Departments across 老司机视频 quickly put these tools into practice with impactful results after participating in IT's AI literacy programs. The Office of the General Counsel leverages Gemini and automated scripts to extract key contract clauses and schedule deadline alerts. Finance staff used a custom Gemini Gem to structure more than 1,800 unstructured email threads into a four-year dataset. Additionally, faculty at the Caruso School of Law generate realistic mock client transcripts from case files, enriching student writing assignments.

The Center for Digital Learning, led by assistant provost , integrates emerging best practices in digital and online learning across courses while maintaining a focus on academic excellence, thoughtful design, and the student learning experience.
